ON THE LAST KILLING FIELDS:

Booker For A Day
August 6, 2004
HCW Killing Fields

The countdown to BIRTHDAY CARD 2004 continues!

Mr. Montabo called Johnny Stompanato into his office to start the program. He wished him a happy birthday and explained that he knew Johnny would be rejoining the service, and he wouldn't want him to work on his birthday. Since he did show up this Friday, however, his present to Johnny S. was the authority of President for a Day. He urged him to have fun and show the fed why he once ruled Friday afternoons.

Dark Horse came storming in, ranting to his brother. Montabo directed him to Johnny, the new boss. DH demanded satisfaction with Franchise. Stompanato understood his anger, but he couldn't just force Franchise to show up. He was not under a contract with HCW. DH pointed out that as Television Champion, Hynes would be required to defend it every week. Johnny admitted overlooking that fact. DH then told him to make him a contender for the title and let him have his due. Stompanato said, if you get him to show up, you get your match.

The next match Stompanato arranged was Oof against New Filthy Creature Dillberg. He made it a First Blood Match, which Oof, the physical monstrosity, easily won with a headbutt. The other Filthy Creatures swarmed the ring, which drew the Corporation out. Stompanato then came to ringside, declared a 3-Way, 9-Man tag contest, with a bandaged Jonahberg and Justin Fearior, and the Amazing Nerd behind him. After the initial flurry of activity, the hobbled team of 'Berg, Fearior, and B-Rad were clearly out of the match. Their presence, however, enabled the New Filthy Creatures to squeak out the pin.

Meanwhile, in the President's Office, Johnny S. kicked back with Mr. Williams and the taped-up Pretty Paul Parismo. In the interest of continuing, in Parismo's words "All killer, no filler" programming, Johnny S. booked contenders Chris Schuon and Hollywood Huey Brown for best two-of-three falls battle. Montabo it was explained, was hunting down Franchise and investigating the events of the past month.

Swan and Hollywood went for power, and it was a slamboree. Schuon hit for a sidewalk slam, and dialed up his Schuon Dive to win, but Brown rolled out, peeled Chris off the mat, delivered a neckbreaker, then a Bronx Bomb for the first fall. He attempted a sleeper hold for a quick second, but Schuon broke out. Swaneezy strung a couple reversals together and eventually dropped a baseball slide-Schuon Dive combo, capturing the second fall. Brown took the deciding frame, surrendering a Pitchout but performed Showtime for the pin.

Stompanato was urged by Parismo to enter the ring for a final time before returning to base, and he found a willing opponent in the Crisco Kid. Calling submission only, Johnny put on a display of snap holds and tie-ups, culminating in a STF tap out. He received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Stompanato walked past P.A. Greg, who was hitting on Jenna Perry. She said she was still thinking about it, and Greg opined "hot chicks need a man on the inside." She rolled her eyes as Johnny S. went into the office.

Toweling off, Stompanato set up Nashville against Huggy Bear, and due to his vested interest, named B-Rad Special Referee. The Amazing Nerd called the match down the middle, of course. Nashville continued in much the same way as in the 3-Way Dance, and won via Camel Clutch.

The contenders for the Cruiserweight Title brought their claims to the President, who had consulted with Mr. Montabo, and declared no clear #1 Contender, with each competitor having beaten each other. Therefore, their match at Birthday Card 2004 will be a 4-Way Elimination Match with Champion Justin Fearior.

Montabo informed an excited Dark Horse that his Personal Assistant phoned and reported Franchise preparing to fight. Montabo shook DH by the hand and promised support.

Main Event action began in earnest, both men circling and staring. Action was back and forth until DH used Franchise's momentum to swing him outside. DH went to work using the ring posts and apron to wear down the larger man. Franchise finally threw DH into the ring steps. Blows were traded for another five minutes. Both men were outside on opposite sides, sucking in air. DH did not wait for Franchise to slowly roll in first. He reached under the apron and brandished a two-by-four. He went in attack at the far side of the ring, when he saw his brother's assistant coming toward the ring. He didn't quite understand, and yelled to the boy, "He sent you?!" Greg explained there was a problem backstage, but DH decided not to bother. When he turned, it was too late. Franchise had eased onto his feet, and grabbed the hidden Television belt he was laying on, and slammed it into DH's head. Stompanato came running out, but he was not in time, and one Diamond Dust sealed the defeat for Dark Horse. Franchise declared, "I am the Alpha and the Omega!"

Montabo emerged after Johnny, shouting at Franchise. He was decoyed from a rumor of Scarlett being seen on the premises. He had had enough, and called out Hynes. Birthday Card 2004 would be a TLC Match, one on one, Montabo versus Franchise. He demanded the match stipulate winner gets Scarlett's contract, and loser leaves HCW, to settle the score once and for all. Franchise agreed. The stage is now set for Birthday Card 2004: The Trojan War.
